I'm still reeling from the Royal Wedding (!!), so I thought it would be fitting to share with you our latest Mood Board for an "English Snug" inspired Library room.
This space is one of those awkward rooms located off of the entry, where it could be an office, or a formal sitting room, but this family wanted to create a space that they would actually use. It's not a big room, but it's got ample room to create an incredible built-in library cabinet, complete with game table and cozy chairs. This room is meant to bring the family together for games, reading, and relaxing. Not only did we want it to feel purposeful and function for this family, we also wanted it feel warm and welcoming - after all, it is the first room you see when you enter the home.
I was inspired by the idea of the English-style snug (a smaller intimate space - think Den). I loved the idea of bringing in color, especially in the cabinetry, along with the use of wool plaids, cognac leather and rich wood tones. I wanted this space to feel slightly grown-up, but also relaxed and lived-in.
And honestly, I love this mood board so much, I want to recreate this design in my own home! I can't help but be drawn into all the coziness!
