My candle collection of Smoky, Wood Scents is slowly growing. Lately I can't get enough of anything that smells like a backyard camp fire.
I'm a well-known fire bug and there's not a lot in life that gives me as much joy as building and maintaining a beautiful roaring fire. They say certain scents are linked to memories. So perhaps, these candles are transporting me back in time to when I was younger and spend many a summer nights sitting by the fire, under the stars.
My first introduction to this now obsession was with Tom Dixon's "London" candle. First of all, this amazing copper candle holder is just beyond with it's little marble base. You'll find this guy making appearances all over my Instagram and styling photos. This scent is described as "the smell of red brick and London parks with crocuses and nettles, and the salty smell of the Thames at Dagenham".
My second candle was a surprise from my husband who was gifted this little gem on a recent work trip to Vermont. "Trailside" by Ursa Major is a blend of cedar, spruce, sandalwood, mint and orange. It smells like the best camping trip you've ever been on.
"St. John's Wood" by Tatine described as "looking through the bent backed tulips, smoldering chimney smoke and dried vines + brick walls". I'm so obsessed with the packaging I can't even unwrap this candle! We used to live close to St. John's Wood and every Sunday we would walk there and wander around the neighborhood. I thought this would be a cute purchase to remind us of our Sunday strolls. Did I mention how amazing it smells?
These candles are so beautiful and unique. I wish I could attach the scent to the blog so you all could experience it.
What's your favorite candle scent or brand? I'd love to hear about it!
